There’s a buzz around Tottenham Hotspur once again after what has been a decidedly mixed and messy season for the north London club.
The arrival of Antonio Conte following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo has shaken up the players, the fans and the club as a whole.
The basic numbers in the Premier League show a team that has won five games, lost five games and drawn one. That draw was Conte’s first league match in charge at Everton on Sunday.
In Europe as well the performances have been mixed, while Tottenham are through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, where they will face West Ham.
The mixed nature of the season so far is reflected in our player ratings for the campaign so far and it’s worth noting that the ratings are to do with those players expectations due to the previous standards set and their current performances, rather than being a tool to compare them with other team-mates. Each mark is an individual thing.
For some of the younger players who only got a small amount of game time in the European matches, we’ve not rated them but instead spoken about their performance and prospects.
Let’s start from the back.
